'Primitive Painters' by Felt, and featuring Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins.
One top quality tune.

Once again ive come aboard Shacks "HMS Fable". This a wonderful album, timeless golden pop tunes with a hint of skag. The Bacherach-esque strings on "Beautiful", the comedy in "Comedy" to the tuneful coda on "Cornish town" all great.
Its one of them albums that you can just come back to time again, its not enough to simply have heard it but everybody must own it.

Everyone else probably already knew this, but I only found out today that my current listen 'Crocodiles' was produced by The Chameleons and Ian Brodie. I think that's pretty cool. Merry Xmas all xxx

My current listening is "From The Lions Mouth" by The Sound. It's very much in the vein of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Chameleons et al. Synth addled indie from the 80's; Tha carnt beait it

Since Santa got me New orders last album i have hardly stopped listening to it. Sounds alot like early Cure although Bernard S thinks the Soul of Ian Curtis has entered him like Jim morrision would to Ryan....resulting in Bernard S sounding very much like Ian Curtis. thats not putting me off tho as i still think its great.
Thank you Santa.

'154' and 'Chairs Missing' by Wire. On constant rotation.
To give Wire a worthy J.Mitch tag-line/C.D. sticker: "They're the thinking man's punk band".
Fans of Joy Division et al can especially appreciate the genius of '154'.

The Arctic Monkeys album came in at number 5 in NME's top 100 British albums ever. Its been out for three days (and is shit) and its higher than the Beatles. Discuss...... ?

I know that it may seem like heresy around these parts, and further fuel for those that claim that I think everything is 'brailleiant', but I actually quite like The Arctic Monkeys.
In my eyes, they seem to have done everything right: they sing in their own accents, they're very critical of the current state of music, they have catchy tunes, they haven't sold out to a major label, they've given all their music away for free, and the lyrics are absolutely fantastic. It seems strange for me to champion a new band, but there you go...
But honestly. 5th greatest British album ever? Now that is disgraceful. It shouldn't even make the top 100. I can't believe that these fools are paid to write for the N.M.E. THE BOYCOTT IS JUSTIFIED.

What's that G.Dorms, it wasn't recorded with synths, in a gothic wind tunnel in 1985, with some etheral scapes of sound? Shit. They must be truly awful. ;D
