What is everyone listening to at the moment?
This will be a sticky, as the only feature I liked from the old board isn't available on here.

Ah! Bjork and Kate Bush! Truly you're a man after my own heart Keogh! Ha-ha. Seriously though, I've been listening to a whole bunch of new records recently, but mainly it's just been Bettie Serveert. They're an absolutely brilliant band from Amsterdam that nobody has really heard of outside the Netherlands... but they really need to be discovered, and I'm championing the cause. They sing in English too, which is always a bonus. If you can, get hold of a record called, 'Palomine'. It's goooood. Also on the J.Mitch stereo is a bit of Vic Chessnut, the new Rammstein record, Magnetic Fields, '69 Love Songs', (Stephen Merritt is a genius), Tori Amos, and the William Shatner spoken word record, 'Transformer Man', which is just bizarre. I also bought a record by Klaus Nomi in Munich- that guy is another dead legend. I've learned that scary, warped, disturbing disco is a good thing. 'You Don't Own Me', would have me up and dancing at any nightclub if the D.J's picked up on this guy. Marvellous stuff.

;D I often wish I had some obscure and cool new thing I could say Ive been listening to recently that would help me both win friends and influence people. Sadly right now that isn't the case, its been the first BRMC album and the best of the Doors on the bakircioglu/clyndes stereo in the last few days-and its been sensational.

im loving slowdive - souvlaki at the moment, its the best thing ive heard in a long time, and its easing my pain this morning, its putting up a strong case for my new favourite hangover album. also pixies - doolittle, i didnt want to like it and i didnt think i would as im not big on american rock but its pretty catchy and its currently ramming my ignorant preconceptions back down my throat, that'll teach me.

You can't go far wrong with the Pixies Binks. If you like, 'Doolittle', get, 'Surfer Rosa', on the stereo. It's a far superior album in my opinion, (although it's a bit more brutal compared to Doolittle). Bone Machine, Where is my Mind?, and River Euphrates are all on it though, so it still remains to be one of my top 3 favourite albums of all time.

I personally was horribly disapointed with "Doolittle", Monkey and Debaser led me to believe i had discovered something special.I was wrong. As for the current listening then its "This Mortal Coil:it'll only end in tears" which has overetaken Joy Divisions "Closer" as the most depwessing Lp ever made, "The Boo Radleys:Giant Steps" good but overeated and the aforementioned "Kate Bush;Hounds of Love" which is great.James Joyce on vinyl.Plus theres Ian Browns New record "Solaraized" which is Ok.

The Harder They Come-Original Soundtrack -Magic. A reggae cavalcade of fun led by the indomitable Jimmy Cliffe, The Maytals and The Melodians. Praise be to Jah! Blondie-Plastic Letters -Its good, and I listen to it a fair bit, but its still their 3rd best album, which is no offence, i tell you! Go on Akey....wheeeeeeel that heckling barrow out. Also, had to buy a new non-minidisc Hi-Fi cos my one with a minidisc deck broke, so im stuck with ones i recorded in the sixth form for my non recordable personal player.....one is called 'New Music File' and it contains early BRMC, The Strokes, Elbow, the ORIGINAL 'Take the Long Road' and...................The Shining? ? What were we thinking three years ago?

I've been checking out a few tracks from Children Of Bodom, Crowbar and a comedy death metal band from Leeds called GORE. They play some crazy version of the Tetris theme tune in a very death metalish kinda way.

Yes, i do believe that Children Of Bodum are the greatest thing since Pimms & Lemonade. A truly excellent band, with such depth and musical flair. The way they scream random words over randomly hit drop tuned strings on their dull guitars beggars belief. I think they should be knighted And as for GORE, well, they are princes amongst men. Im going to give them my first born son as a token of my gratefulness for them enhancing the Tetris theme tune in a comedy metal vein. The world truly needed someone to do that

Indeed, the world wouldn't be such a great place without the likes of GORE. Granted we could have possibly survived without the Death Tetris, however it makes me smile ;D
On another note, dull downtuned guitars kick @ss if done properly, anyone on here like metal?

Oh yes I'm a massive fan of metal.... My favourite type definately has to be Pig Iron, the likes of which Fascist Italy produced during the "Mega" Mussolini years, as he himself dubbed these times, before he was tragically gutted by his own people...
ah Benny, when will you ever learn?

Dont you worry Comrade Drake. We'll oust those democrats and get the Pig Iron industry on its' feet again. Bring back castor oil and the club....those two pillars on which our society is founded. Damn you Giolitti, damn you to HELL
As for you Alessandro Del Piero...WIN OR DIE

I like metal. But only if it's done properly. Indeed, where would we be without such records as, 'Reign in Blood', by Slayer; 'No Sleep 'till Hammersmith', by Motorhead; 'Back in Black', by AC/DC; 'Denim and Leather', by Saxon; 'Roots', by Sepultura, or 'Aenima', by Tool? Nowhere- that's where. These are all stone cold classics, but only because they either have passion, or they rock my bollocks off. I've heard enough bands drop tuning their basses and gurning lyrics about death, and how their girlfriends don't love them. That's pathetic. It isn't clever at all. That's why comedy death metal bands from Leeds just don't float my boat...
