It's hotTing up alright, and I've clawed my way back at Gary for 3rd spot, just the 6 points now; although I have an injury list almost as long as the Lord Of Illewsion's man-hood.
If Nolan doesnt play tonight though Spinds you'll be in for some hot Lennon points, as I will be in for 8 of the best from McFadden.
It's been a quality season, even though I threw it away a bit, especially after that 118 point week.
Third place still gets a beer though, which will do me.

Yeah but that would be a quality end to the season. Especially if it was a penny.
This £5 will be well earned from whoever gets it.

binks is also back in with a shout for 3rd spot!! sweet. after falling off disapointingly from my xmas time good position im back in for this 3rd place booze!
surely if you get third place you buy your own though. whos actually gonna buy you a beer? theres only spinders, akes, me dregs, gdorms, gaz, pegs, keowho will buy for the winner. thats 8 pints. amply sufficeient for the winner. but the winner wont buy one, obviously. and then person who comes second wont want to buy one. third position could be like what totenham will get this year if arsenal win champions league. think theyre getting something but really just gettun bitter to the max!!

Spinders goes for broke on the final day- the gauntlet has been thrown down. 5 changes! Transfer activity not seen since Tottenham bought every midfieder under the sun or Keo went on his classy little spree earlier in the season. It's tight. I thought I could play safe and ride it out. But what would the point in that be? I've picked a side I think will prosper this weekend. I've tinkered all season so I wasn't gonna start bein a safety driver at the death.
My nerves are in shreds this weekend. Fantasy football, Tottenham maybe clinching fourth, town in the playoffs. I'm not sure i'll make it to Sunday.

Well played Akes. Bit of a monumental fuck up at the end there by me but well as nasty nick from Big Brother 1 said 'if you live by the sword, you die by the sword.' Anyway, fantasy world cup has to happen. In a way, it'll be much better as it'll be shorter, less time for complacency and will throw the league really wide open. Now there are many options which I can see for playin this and I rekon we shud get some sorta consensus on it-
1. We could do the Bud League's version but that just involves premiership players playing in the world cup and personally I was quite looking forward to scouting the african nations in the coming weeks for potential gems.
2. Do a one with a proper team covering all players- i'd like this one.
3. Do a big predictions contest. Could be quite shiny.
It's up to everyone which they want to play and what they want to play for. But me and akes are definitely having a wager on one of these competitions.
And everyone shud do a team, even J-Mitch. World Cup's are pretty unpredictable in a way, so everyone has a chance. Especially when teams like South Korea make the semis.

Dave.....I may well scour the web for a decent site to do the world cup, or failing that i've got a cunning plan..............
If anyone is up for it, we could predict all results and group table finishes, gaining 1 point for a correct result (win/draw) and three points for correct score. Then when the second round is decided we add to the fancy spreadsheet and make another set of predictions. Same again with the following rounds. This gives people who f&*$ up in the group stage predicitions a second chance. It could be £5 in and winner takes all.
How d'ya like those apples?
And Binko....well played on third. I'll get you a pint for taking me out of that comfortable position that I had nestled myself into.

Well personally, I would rather do a league, as we are in Dam for 5 days of the cup, and it will be hard to keep my boys formation and motivation going whilst Im out of the country, scouting new players for ACCA AFC's 2006/2007 league..
But..... as usual Ill do whatever you lot decide.

I browsed the megaweb last night and found a few but most aren't ready for registration yet, so you can't really tell. There are 3 free ones that I found, the rest are £5 entry fee so raz them off with a Steve Langhorn style noooooeeee jump. Budweiser with prem players, bbc sport which is more a golden boot challenge from what I can see and a paddy power league. Now paddy power, besides having the coolest name of all the leagues, does seem to offer a format most like the Bud one, picking a squad and selecting your 11. Couldn't actually find it on their obscure betting site but it will be there shortly i'm told. I got it off this website that reviewed all the different leagues coming up for the world cup.
But it's up to you Barno. Have a little scout and see what you can find. I think AKey and I should do a team league to settle our little wager as it's most like the one we've just done. But we could put the general wager for everyone, be it beer or small time cash, on a predictions race.
